The annual cultural fest of KIIT University, KAIZEN 08, was inaugurated at the Kathjodi campus of the university, here on Tuesday. The fest was inaugurated by Shri. Shatrughna Sinha, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (RS) and renowned Cine Star in the august presence of Chief Guest Shri.Gopal Chandra Nanda IPS, Honb’le DG & IG Police Orissa, Shri. Binaya Kumar Behera ,IPS Commisioner of police Twin city Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
Corruption and population are the main constraints for development of India though it is developing in number of ways said, Shri. Shatrughna Sinha after inaugurating the fest. Young generation should campaign for Food for thought as 30% people are living below poverty line in India, he outlined while addressing the gathering.
Speaking on the occasion Shri. Gopal Chandra Nanda said that India is an employable country but there is dearth of qualitative employees. The country’s development depends upon the quality of education which is provided in its educational institutions, he asserted while addressing the gathering.
While Shri. Binaya Kumar Behera, IPS asserted that culture should be enrolled as part of curriculum. Dr. A. Samanta, Founder Secretary, KIIT outlined the achievements of the students of the university in academics, technical, sports and cultural activities. Fests like Kaizen would go a long way in creating a broad platform for the students to showcase their creativity.
Prof. S. C. De Sarkar, Vice Chancellor and Mr.L.C.Amarnathan, Team Leader also spoke on the occasion. The Three day event will also feature Mehandi competition, Fashion Parade, etc.
