World Kidney Day to be observed by KIMS

World Kidney Day is going to be observed on 13th March 2008 by Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), a sister concern of KIIT University in association with Orissa Nephrology Forum, Indian Academy of Nephrology, Indian Medical Association; API, Bhubaneswar, Multi Organ Transplantation & Human Educational Research (MOTHER) and Health + Plus Division (Information International) BBSR. On this occasion a Public Rally will be taken from Biju Pattnaik Park to Raj Bhawan starting at 8:00am followed by a public meeting at Hotel Crown at 6:30pm. It is the 3rd time KIMS is observing the World Kidney Day, while it is observed every year worldwide since last 5 years. Due to a high increase in kidney related diseases like kidney failure, diabetes and hypertension throughout the world, it was realized to create awareness among people for primary prevention and control of the above diseases and adequately treat those conditions including albuminuria to avoid serious complications like kidney failure, heart attack and brain stroke. To Mark this occasion a free Diabetic Detective Test will be organized from 9 am to 12 pm at Niya premises unit -7 AG square BBSR.

The organizing committee has appealed to all citizens of Bhubaneswar, GP doctors, physicians, cardiologists, neurologists, surgeons to join their hands to observe the Day in a big way and to carry the Basic message of the day to the public informed Dr. Suresh C. Dash, Principal KIMS.
